Super helpful repair and maintenance manual.

This Is a great repair and service manual. It has a ton of reference photos and illustrations. I gave it 4 stars only due to the fact that I find the page numbering system a little confusing, and sometimes the photos are explaining the last job, on a page that is talking about something else. Layout issues; but, the content isn't jeopardized by those few things. I think they were just trying to fill every page, and use the book space by efficiently. It has a lot of tips and reminders on each job. You can tell that these guys were taking great, helpful notes as they were doing each of these jobs, and shared little insider reminders and cautions. I can't wait to get my parts so I can get some grease on that book :)

Not perfect, but MUCH better than Clymer

I purchased the Clymer manual when I bought my motorcycle to have on hand...It really was not very helpful.
I bought new sprockets and it was a fairly involved process to change them out (had to remove the whole back wheel, etc.) The Clymer manual (maybe I'm just dumb) just was a pain to try and find how to do this simple task.
I purchased the haynes and so far it has been MUCH better. Can actually see the photos and the layout just makes a lot more sense...much easier to find what is needed (and in fewer pages strangely enough). Plus I love the hard cover of the Haynes manual, it keeps the page I'm working on open better. Haynes is definitely worth the extra cost.

great manual, information on the Drifter variant

One of the few manuals that actually has useful information for the Drifter variant of the Vulcan 800 as that model has significant differences from the other models. The pictures are black and white, but are clear and useful. A manual of any kind is a necessity when doing anything more than the very basic maintenance, and this one seems to be one of the better ones.
